Our story

Founded by a guide, run by locals

Taswira Africa Safaris was founded by George, a professional safari guide who knows Tanzania’s wilderness intimately — from the great migrations to its quietest corners. The company grew out of 15 years of guiding excellence.

Today we’re a small team based in Arusha, the gateway to the Serengeti, Ngorongoro and Tarangire. Every journey is planned and guided by people who live here, and every lodge we recommend has been personally visited.

We are a Carbon Tanzania partner and a Pack for a Purpose member, and we support young people through Umoja Tanzania. Our safaris use local businesses and fair wages, so more of what you spend stays in the communities you visit.

On safari there’s clean drinking water on board, stainless-steel refillable bottles and hot lunches in reusable containers — no single-use plastic.
