About Tarangire National Park

Tarangire is often the first park on a northern safari — just a couple of hours from Arusha, and one of the most beautiful. Giant baobab trees stand over golden grassland and the winding Tarangire River.

In the dry season the river is the only water for miles, and huge elephant herds gather here along with zebra, wildebeest, buffalo and the predators that follow. It’s also excellent for birds.
